When my 5 year old asked me what the huge range of whips were in the shop at her riding stables, I was honestly embarrassed and pressed the point by saying they were for children who didn't know how to ride properly. I ride thoroughbreds who try to get me off on a regular basis, but unlike others I ride with I don't carry a whip.
